Angelica Maria Garcia Requena
Maid of Honor- WEST
Angie is the long-time bestie of the bride. From the plains of Illinois to the Puget Sound, these two have been getting into all sorts of trouble for the better part of 18 years.

The groom and this knave became fast friends from their first meeting as roommates at the summer program Governer’s School (pronounced Guvnah’s Sckool). Over the years, Josh has been the sacred keeper of traditions, a faithful walking companion (even when he didn’t want to) and a grounding agent for the groom.
By the winds of fate, they found each other through the mystical lottery of the UVA student housing system. Roommates through years of wild and misadventure, they forged an unbreakable bond.
When Nate and Luke first met, they got into a fight… on stage. Since then, they’ve fought on each one of life’s great stages together, with each other, for each other and often against each other.
How long does it take one to love a Brooke Dickie? Who’s to say. We can say this, she stole the bride’s heart during their time together at UVA. Years of camping, climbing and foster doggos later, she’s an indispensable member of the couple’s friend catalogue.
Another rogue from that fateful Governor’s School Summer. Lucas, as he is known, has oft been the Virgil to our groom’s Dante. Dikaia et Libertas. Ask him about the difference between our names.
Bonding over their general distaste for sororities in college (even though they were both members of Alpha Delta Pi), Jite and KJ have developed a long-lasting friendship. Jite is a true-born comic genius and is a fixture on the bride’s FaceTime screen.
A true “OG”, Brad was there from the beginning of Luke’s life. From Tar Heels to Star Wars, Brad laid out a foundation for his kid brother. Invaluable in his wisdom, love and humor, Brad is travelling from the other side of the country to stand by his brother’s side.
When the bride and groom moved out to the PNW, they had very few friends. By fate and by connection, Lexy came into their lives. For the last two years, she’s offered sincere friendship and has shared her passions, including aerial hoop (which has consequently become a passion of the bride).
Since he first set up shop swindling Luke of lunch money for his vending machine treats in some science class, Avi has negotiated a spot into our groom’s heart. With his fearsome mane and his unshakeable loyalty, you couldn’t ask for a more regal friend and fellow.
Sara has been foundational to Luke and KJ’s experience in Tacoma. From the jump, she’s been a consummate friend, coming in clutch more than once. Explaining board game rules, helping lay LVP flooring and playing on the groom’s company softball team, Sara is truly awesome.
Luke’s brother by law, Mike has established himself as a stalwart figure in Luke’s life, providing friendship, meat-smoking advice and homebrew sessions.
Well, Candace has been around for Luke since the beginning. A bully of a big sister, she also been a best friend. And she has extended her characteristic warmth to KJ, making her feel welcomed into the family and serving as a friend to her soon-to-be sister.
The youngest niece of the groom, Is-da-beast Migliara is a one-of-a-kinda. She’ll likely also serve as usher at the wedding, greeting every single person she doesn’t know, and chasing down any little boys that find themselves in her sights.
Giuliana, the eldest of Candace Migliara’s children, is the artsy-fartsy, sweet and sensitive type. She has two modes: the center of everyone’s attention or a little shy. This is her first team-lead experience.
LBE (Little Baby Eddie) is the handsome youngest nephew of the groom. With his sweet smile and his loveable demeanor, this little dude will charm all of the guests (and hopefully not lose the rings).
Christopher and Luke met their first summer at seminary (Luke was taking Hebrew before the semester proper started, Christopher Greek). They roomed together and Christopher was exposed to far too much that summer. But he remained a friend and a mentor-figure through their time together.
Kyle and Alicia Bradshaw have made the couple’s experience of Tacoma something altogether wonderful. Neighbors of two houses down, they’ve been quick to offer friendship, fun and help at every turn. And they lose at the game Wingspan gracefully.
Retired fireman. Pool shark. All around charmer. Mark moved to Tacoma when the bride and groom decided they wanted to head out that way. Absolutely devoted to his only daughter, Mark will be walking his girl down the aisle on June 8th.
A force of charisma and determination, Ms. Dixon has crafted the bride into the wonderful woman she is today, imparting wisdom, powerful habits and an infectious capacity for fun. If she invites you to a game of Tunk, just know that you’re likely to lose your shirt.
Dennis is a sweet, soft-spoken man who has spent the last five decades dedicated to his wife and his children. He’s imparted on the groom much wisdom, though not all is yet to stick. Chief among the wisdom, how to live life with force-of-nature woman, a lesson Luke needed learning in preparation for KJ. Helpful hint when dealing with Dennis: don’t get into an oyster shucking competition with him unless you want to lose.
A force of nature made manifest in a woman. Andee Woodcock has never nor will seemingly ever have any chill. She can get more done than four people half her age. And the urgency she sets about living life, is the same urgency she applies to the way she loves her family and friends. She’s a source of inspiration for the groom and maybe the genetic explanation behind many of his personality quirks.
This grey man came from the rough and tumble streets of Charlottesville, VA in 2015. This little dude saw years of KJ being wild, but took to Luke immediately when the two started dating in 2019. He now enjoys a position of privilege as the eldest fur child of the Washington/Woodcock household.
A man of many names (Appadougah, Appadopapolis, Appa Doplar Radar, Doopa dohg, etc..), this full horse of a dog is the love of Luke and KJ’s life. If all goes as planned, Appa will be at the wedding, 80 pounds of chaos and love for all, hopefully not knocking over children or the elderly along the way.
Penny is a new addition to the family. A true street kitten, Luke scooped her up from underneath their neighbor’s porch on the 5th of July, a feral spice biscuit of 8 weeks. In the last year, Penny has become accustomed to the finer things, especially Costco chicken, and is learning her role in the family animal hierarchy.
